Japanese National Treasure Jikihara Roshi created these zenga ink paintings at Zen Mountain monastery in 1982, adding in his own calligraphy drawn from the classic commentary poems that have accompanied this series through the ages.Ā These commentaries, along with the images, illustrare the successive stages of the spiritual journey.
We have printed them along with one such poetic commentary,Ā translated by ourĀ founding abbot,Ā John Daido Loori, along with Kazuaki Tanahashi.
The ten pictures are printed onĀ 8.5" x 11"Ā white archival card stock ready for framing. The series is sold in a black presentation folder with cover image.
